This study was a review and analysis of 12 cases of indirect inguinal hernia treated by Marcy's repair from July, 1989 to Jan.. 1991 at the department of surgery, Chosun university hospital.
@ES The following results were obtained.
@EN 1) The Maroy's operation provides advantage of definitive repair the basic defect of transversalis fascia with in internal ring without disturbing the integrity of anatomic and physiologic mechanism.
2) In cases of large internal ring, old age and long standing hernia may be added Bassini or McVay operation to Marcy's operation for protection of recurrence.
3) Regardless of age, duration and size of internal ring, short term follow up survey showed good result without complications such as traction pain, scrotal swelling, hematoma. It also provides early discharge within almost three days.
